Conversations with Colleagues

Conversations with Colleagues are group sessions in which peers emotionally support each other on topics ranging from fatigue and work/life balance to racial justice. The sessions are facilitated by licensed Duke social workers and are available to all Duke Health and Duke University faculty, students, and staff.

Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month Panel Discussion.  In honor of Hispanic & Latino Heritage month staff will have an opportunity to come together and debrief about the panel discussion hosted by Duke on 9/30.  Our Conversatiosn with Colleagues hosts will create a safe space for you to share your experiences, support each other and learn from one another.  We are excited to announce that we will be able to host a session for Spanish speakers only 10/1 at 12 pm.  There are also sessions available for non-Spanish speakers.  Register Here.

Support for COVID Positive Staff. As COVID continues to surge in our state, some of our Duke team members have tested positive for COVID-19.  There are lots of feelings and emotions that an individual can grapple with when they test Positive for COVID.  The Conversatiosn with Colleagues team is here to offer a safe space for you to share and process through these emotions. Register Here.

Support for Leaders. Leaders have bravely faced many challenges that the past year and a half has brought us.  Learning to lead and manage during a pandemic, staff shortages, difficult patient interactions, burnout and countless other struggles has not been easy.  Join other leaders as we take some time to debrief and have a safe space to support each other.  Register Here.

Deeper Dive Series. Back by popular demand Conversations with Colleagues is excited to offer another wave of our Racial Justice: Deeper Dive Series.  This is a 6 week transformative experience that focuses on exploring the origins of systemic racism, understanding our own implicit biases and learning what we can each do to have a positive impact on our local community.  Our curriculum includes mixed media to engage all learning styles.  Because this is a cohort based experience, we ask that attendees commit to all 6 weeks of the series.  You will select a day and time that works for you and will be expected to attend all 6 sessions on that set day.  This will allow participants to build relationships with their cohort. Register Here.

Train the Host. Sessions available for teams that want to host ongoing or tailored conversations on COVID fatigue, child care issues, or racial justice. Sign up for Train the Host.
